Today I attended with my mum Linda the Fabulous Fifties by the Cavalcade of History and Fashion at the Penrith Regional Gallery & The Lewers Bequest.
The presentation provided us with a glimpse into the lives of the modern housewives and the teenagers of the 1950s. The glamour and style of the career woman of this era and snippets of Australia’s social history as told through the lives of the original wearers of these gowns.
Throughout the presentation beautiful original clothing and accessories from the Cavalcade’s vast collection were carried amongst the audience, allowing a closer look at pieces from the collection.
The presentation was followed by a yummy afternoon tea provided by Cafe at Lewers.
If you’re a lover of 50’s clothing, you will love this presentation.
